So, here goes my first attempt at writing a blog. I have decided to track my bschool journey which started way back in 2007. Well, three years is a long time, since I gave my GMAT. In 2008, I decided to test the waters and I applied to Darden and Kenan Flagler. I thought that my interview went pretty well with Kenan Flagler. But when the dreaded rejection letter flashed in my inbox, I was disappointed. The fact that I didn't get an interview invite from Darden made me realize that my essays were mediocre.
The following year, I applied to MIT, Yale and IESE. I had visited the schools and when I got an interview invite from Yale and IESE, I thought I had done my homework. But, IESE refused an admit. Yale liked me but didn't really love me. I was on the waitlist for about 6 months, until 2 days back. I got dropped off the Yale waitlist too. MIT didn't bother to call me. Ouch!
So now, I have this huge task cut ahead of me. I need to select my schools wisely this time. Probably, I need to apply to more than 5 schools to hit the target. This time I am going to go with the old formula. 2 from top 10, 2 from 10-20, 2 from 20-30.
Let the game begin!
